Frequently Asked Questions
How do I choose the right size Skyjack scissor lift?
Measure the maximum working height you need and subtract 6 feet for standing height and arm reach to determine platform height. For indoor work on level surfaces, the SJIII 3219 (19 ft) or SJIII 4626 (26 ft) are ideal. For outdoor or rough terrain, the SJ6832 RTE handles uneven ground. Also consider weight capacity -- if you're loading heavy tools or materials, choose a model with 1,000 lbs capacity.
Do you deliver scissor lifts to the job site?
Yes, we deliver and pick up all rental equipment. Delivery is available same-day or next-day in most metro areas. We use flatbed trucks with tilt decks for safe loading and unloading. Delivery fees are based on distance from our nearest depot. Self-pickup is also available from our yard locations.
Is operator training included with the rental?
We provide a basic equipment orientation at the time of delivery covering controls, safety features, and charging procedures. Full OSHA-compliant operator certification training is available as an add-on service. All operators must be trained and authorized per OSHA regulations before operating any scissor lift.
What happens if the scissor lift breaks down on the job?
Call our 24/7 support line immediately. For minor issues, our technicians can often troubleshoot over the phone thanks to Skyjack's simple design. For mechanical failures, we dispatch a service technician or swap the unit, typically within 4-8 hours. You are not charged for downtime caused by mechanical failure.
What's included in the rental rate?
The rental rate includes the scissor lift, pre-delivery inspection, full charge, and basic operator orientation. Delivery and pickup, fuel or charging, damage waiver, and operator training are available as add-on services. We provide all necessary documentation including safety manuals and inspection checklists.
